Eddie Shore. He was THE premiere player of his era. No other Bruin aside of Orr can say that.

I began watching the NHL before the first 1967 expansion. I watched Orr from his rookie season. During those 5-6 years the Bruins had many weapons. Everybody remembers Esposito, Hodge, Cashman. Bruin fans will also have guys like Bucyk, O'Reilly, Neely, Bourque, a few more Rick Middleton, maybe Adam Oates. All very worthy choices but I remember watching another star during Orr's run that is always overlooked. He killed penalties, took important face offs, great goal scorer. My choice for next best Bruin would be Derek Sanderson. He and Orr playing keep away in penalty killing situations was fun to watch. Saw some of that same chemistry during my Edmonton years with Coffey and Gretzky. Sanderson was just as important as any Bruin and deserves to be recognized.

Cam Neely would have to the greatest Boston Bruin, He really embody Bruins hockey during his era.
Cam Neely would take out a D-man in the corner pick up the puck, stickhandle by one guy, bull over another get an open shot and put the puck top cheese, then drop the mits and dummy a guy
It is a shame Ulf Samuelson robbed hockey fans of seeing Cam Neely play his full career. Neely greatness isn't measured solely on his stats or accolades it is how he played the game like a warrior

I was going to say Bobby Orr but he's not an Option I have to say Ray Bourque because he has a Never Say die Attitude felt sorry when they took his #7 and Replace it with #77, But in End he won a Stanley Cup in Colorado though never won in Boston.
But I like He never Gave up until he won it all until he held the Lord Stanley's Cup for Himself and that took 22 Years His Entire Playing Career to get what He Work Hard for.
#77 that Greatest Player that the Bruins ever had.

Johnny Bucyk could take you far with a hint of a chance. He had been in the league quite a while on some bad teams, when Orr came up, but still had some great seasons and it was his records which Bourque was chasing. Whats more he won two cups! he played with Howe, Lindsey, Sawchuck, DelVecchio, Orr, Esposito, Cheevers and many more including Borque.

I think the greatest hockey player to play for the Boston Bruins besides Bobby Orr is Ochara because he is good size for a defensemen but is still quick on his feet, can hit, and has an AMAZING slapshot.

My Opinion..... Ray Bourque, one of the most solid players ever to play the game. Although he didn't play durring my life time, John Bucyk, carried the bruins until Orr got there. My personal favorite Joe Thornton just look at his stats, he carried them for several years too !
