Just like the others said, it isn't just about looks. Are you good? Do you have training and a good resume? Are you living in or willing to relocate to an area where you have a shot at getting into the business? It's also about luck & personality. Not only do you have to nail your auditions, they have to like you and want to work with you from the time you walk in the door. There are so many variables other than your look.
Take all that and run with it and maybe you'll have a shot! Get into some classes, build your resume, then get an agent.

Not really a matter of looks, its more a matter of type. You have your leading types, which are your really good looking actors, and your character types, which are more your average to below average looking actors. Your part is developing your talent and working on your presentation. Once you have that taken care of and are getting work on your own you should be able to get representation, which is the 3rd key ingredient. Withing those two types I mentioned earlier are tons of subtypes. An acting coach or acting career consultant can help you find your type.

I'm not even gonna look at your pic. I'm gonna ask you consider: Peter Boyle. Ernest Bornine. Cedric the Entertainer. Christopher Lloyd. Danny DeVito. Same Elliott. Chris Farley. Do these guys have the looks to pursue acting? Then why are you worrying about YOUR looks? You wanna be actor...go act! And quit worrying about how you look.

its not about looks. there's always gonna be a director or agent who goes for personlity over looks. if you want to be in an industry that is about looks then you need to look into modeling, but for acting you need to have talent. Its true that if you look good you're gonna get roles as a leading man, but if you dont have the talent then you're out of luck

Based on just looks?
Nope. You're good looking, but you're not great looking.
You don't stand out.
People who make it just on looks tend to be either lingerie models, heavily acarred or tattooed, steroid freaks, etc.
Looks are only a small part of it.

Sure you do! I think you would make a good character actor. The thing is finding a good teacher. I recommend a small class that focuses on scene study.

Acting isnt only about looks...there's always someone better looking/younger/taller/more muscular/skinnier/...the list goes on. In my experience...10 years as a proffesional...the plainer actors get it easier....
