Consider yourself lucky! I've worked places where you had to work 3 weeks or longer before you get your 1st paycheck.
Working for the state, they paid you a week after the close of a pay period so, yeah, you could work 2 weeks then wait another week before your check arrived.
At the university, instructors worked a whole month before we got paid because they paid only once a month!
Get a grip, this is the real world and that wait until after 2 p.m. thing happens a lot of places, too.

And if you'd been hired in the middle of the pay period, you would have had to wait 3 weeks. Oh, the horror!

Woah thats so unfair! You are far, far, too special to get paid just once every 2 wks. How dare they!

I guess so. Because you can double or treble your pay every 2 weeks!
