He will, but it may take awhile. I would just say "mama" while I changed him, when we played...etc. I mimicked his sounds and tried to get him to mimic mine. Sometimes they do say "dada" first, but it's nothing personal, they are learning.

Just talk to him a lot. Most babies don't say mama at 4 months. And be prepared, lots of babies say dada first. It is easier for them to say.

children normally dont start forming real words until 6-7 months plus most babies say dada before mama because its easier to pronounce... i wouldnt force ur child to say anything right now just talk to him and say mama and dada and he will eventually get the clue and start saying it himself... give it time!

Talk to him as much as you can and repeat words to him. Reading books to him is a great way although he probly wont understand what your reading but just read to him and repeat several small words at a time as he gets older repeat longer words.

You can use it frequently to reference yourself, he will pick it up and use it when he is ready. 4 months is really young to use it and have it mean anything.
