seems most unfair . In Britain you could fight it and i am sure the same is for you in your country . Start by finding out who to report this to. I'm sure your local city hall will help you with this . do you have citizens advice bureaus .do you have a union . hope you have some luck

First off, Louisiana is a right to hire, right to fire State and they can fire you for just about anything. NOW, you refused to work an auditor, which you were hired for in the 1st place right? When you decided to do that, they could have said, "well if you don't want to do auditing we will have to let you go,".... Secondly, you decided you would work front desk, and ALL front desk staff have to work housekeeping, and then you told your boss you were not hired to do housekeeping when she was upset that you did not do the Sunday housekeeping, and again, that's part of that the front desk position right? They now have another reason to fire you. As for as pay goes, there is nothing that says they HAVE to hire you at the same rate as someone else. You seem to be a problem employee, possibly even on the lazy side. You should have been fired. You were given a position, and YOU decided you wanted to do something else, and then you blatantly tell your boss that housekeeping is not what you were hired for. Would you have kept an employee that told you that?
It irritates the hell out of me when people are hired at one position, refuse to do the job they were hired to do, and when they are given a position doing lesser, they continue to bi**h . You should have continued training as the auditor, and worked the position instead of getting your feathers ruffled because you were training with the bosses' stepdaughter. You should be thankful that you even have a darn job.
Grow up.

confident they are able to. Your job grow to be to bathe rooms. you desperate you ought to not do this for a lame reason. sure, it is lame. There are actually not human beings interior the rooms smoking in case you're cleansing them. You and your fetus are actually not being uncovered to 2nd hand smoke via being in a room that has been smoked in. If smoking grow to be the completed base of your excuse i might say your boss is right, you won't be able to be certain a smoke unfastened environment. i'm confident maximum human beings have had a non smoking lodge room that have been smoked in in some unspecified time interior the destiny. might you refuse to bathe that room? it is exciting to me which you do not point out a controversy with working with risky chemical factors, yet smoking rooms are a undertaking. As am corporation i might take this excuse as an indication of the justifications again, whilst it gets too hard to push your cart down the hallway or bend over to make the mattress.

You could try, but if its a major hotel chain you're taking a costly gamble. Generally an employer unless otherwise mentioned, can fire an employee when they no longer require them or thy cannot (or will not) do the work they seem fuitful to the company.

An employer can fire you for just about anything. yo have been working there a little over two months and you are standing there telling him what you will and will not do. I would have fired you too.

No- as long as you work in an at will state, unless you can prove discrimination as the reason for your firing, there is nothing to fight.

Discriminated against because of your race or gender or because you didn't want to do housekeeping? It is perfectly legal for an employer to "discriminate" against someone who doesn't do what they are told.

Nope and next time just keep your mouth shut and do whatever they tell you too. Complaining that others make more money than you or refusing to do part of the job will get you fired every time. Get over yourself.
