The Dixie Chicks core audience was good old southern America-lovin, god-fearin folk. When that idiot Manes said what she said she essentially spit in her fan base's face. That level of stupidity is what makes them 100% wrong.
You are also a complete and utter liar. The statement that got them ostracized had nothing to do with Iraq and oil. The leftist media embraced and rebuilt the Dixie Chicks. It was country radio and the fans that turned their back on them.
Your entire statement(question) is a lie. Why do you feel the need to fabricate in order to make a point?

Iraq is all about oil? Where's your proof in that? Oh, that's right - it's not true!
The Dixie Chicks had every right to speak their mind, and so did their former fans. They can't go say that it is okay for them to do/say what they want and then wonder why they are losing fans and sales . . .

That wasn't all the Dixie Chicks said. First, I for one don't care about the opinion of the Dixie Chicks. They are entertainers, I don't really care where their political beliefs lie. Next, since they clearly took advantage of their fame to make comments against the President, against the country, and against those who support this country, they deserved and deserve everything they get. Last, no war is about any one thing, although oil is certainly a factor seeing is how your very existence is predicated by how much oil we have. Stop being so naive.

The actions in Iraq did not have squat to do with oil but everything to do with NBC weapons components and their ultimate removal along with allowing the people of Iraq to choose their leaders.
The Dixie Chicks made treasonous statements and, IMO, should not have been allow re-entry into the U.S.A.

Huh? I haven't seen a drop of oil out of Iraq. Far as I know the Iraqi people have control over all of it. If this war was about oil then where is it?

Iraq is not about oil. Iraq is about the USA getting a well armed military on the border of Israel without any suspicion. Oil is the spoils of the military action.
