I'm tired of going to the library, and picking out books that look good, but turn out to be AWFUL.

I know some people dont like romance novels, but I do!! My husband is in the military, so he is away from home alot. Hey, a gal gets lonely, and everyone needs a fix!! LOL!!

Currently, my favorite book has to be Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. It's about an ordinary girl who falls in love with a boy who happens to be a vampire! It's very exciting and full of suspense. It's book #1 in the Twilight Saga. There are currently three books out, and the last book is being released this August. Twilight was so much better than the sequels... New Moon and Eclipse weren't as good, but still great reads!

I read a lot of romance novels, and i found Stephanie Laurens to be one of the better writers. She has many series, and she adds little side stories in, so you might have a mystery to solve or you might see everything through the mans' point of view. You really cant predict the out come of the stories, so the book draws you deeper as you get into the story line.
I also like read Nora Roberts, her stories are aliitle bit more predictable, but they will do. I Like her MacGregor family series, as well as the Three Sisters Trilogy, Born In trilogy, Dream Trilogy, and the Irish Trilogy begining with Jewels of the Sun.
I also find that when I can not find a book that I like, that if I got to a half priced book store and walk dow the aisle, that the books that are well worn are better. As well as the anthologies. Even if you do not like one of the 4 stories in the book, you have 3 more to go through.
I hope this helps in your search of rommance books.

I'm a romance fanatic also and I've been reading them since I was twelve and could appreciate the art of writing. Here are some of my favorites: My Wicked Enchantress-Meagan McKinney, Any of Rosemary Rogers Books (She's the greatest Romance Writer of all time...seriously), Virginia Henley's books Here are some I've read : The Falcon and the Flower, The Border Hostage, Tempted, Desired, Ravished just to name a few. I have come across a lot of badly written romance books and believe me I've read a billion of books and only few are writteny greatly!

My favorite romance author for light reading is Julie Garwood. I love her themes (mainly historical fiction set in Scotland or England during the dark ages). I have read all of her romance novels, and, unfortunately, once you have read them all they are repetitive in characters and events. But, if you love a little humor, adventure, where the good guys win the fair lady in the end of the story, then you should read them! I have not read any of her mystery/thrillers set in the present b/c I don't really like those kind of books. Hope this helps!

Generally I don't like romance novels, but I do like one author who writes romance/mystery. Occasionally when I need something light to read just to slow things down a bit, I like Marianne Stillings. She writes pretty good stories with mystery, alpha male cops etc. I started with The Damsel in the Dress and enjoyed it, so I read the others. Pax - C
