take and for what lenght of time? We've been TTC for about 5 months and I've discovered that I ovulated on about day 16 but have 25 day cycles, so I'm hoping B6 might be worth a try before moving on to bigger guns. thanks!

Wwll with a 9 day luteal phase you do need to lengthen it. I looked into taking B6 as well, but found there were some side effects of taking such a high dose. I'd go see your doctor, because she/he can test your progesterone and then give you a prescription to lenghten your luteal phase.

I also have a luteal phase defect (anything less than 10 days). My doctor said this this is caused by low levels of progesterone after ovulation. In my case I didn't always ovulate but when I did my doctor said it wasn't a very "strong" ovulation and therefore my body would produce some progesterone but not enough. She didn't mention try B6. She put me on Clomid to induce a better ovulation and in turn more progesterone and longer luteal phase and it worked this month. Best of luck and talk to your doctor first.
