The reason I am asking is because someone actually tried to kill me the other day. I was trying to figure out who, and it actually could have been any of about 10 people. Now I have to check my car for booby traps everytime I get in it. I never had any attempts on my life until I became a lawyer.

Completely. Looks like it is time to go to another law firm. Maybe it will help to remember that there are some decent attorneys out there who are fair, courteous and professional. I do worry that staying an attorney will suck my soul. Volunteering outside of the law helps. You know it's bad when you start to feel the dread coming on Sunday morning.

I am not an attorney, merely a paralegal, but I suspect nearly everyone of every profession has those days everyonce in a while.

I know I've had days where I would be oh so happy if all of these clients would just dissapear. Or those days when you are stuck reading over particulars of some child sex abuse case and really feel like you are defending the scum of the earth and why bother, but it goes away.

Remember, laws and books and whatever... are written by people like you and I. We'll all die in the end. They're law makers, that doesn't mean they're better than us. If they are better than us, they can't die like us.

So in short, if someone sues you. You request for proof, evidence, real facts. You can't proof by examples. You need to prove by real facts with paper, contract, signature, all sort of facts to prove that you're guilty or that you're not guilty.

So my thought is that no matter who you are, you will die like me, so don't tell me bullshit. You're the same like me. You're not better than me. In the end, you will die. Tell that to those oppress you.

PS: The word "You" is refer to the person that you (the person that posted the question) want to talk to. I hope I don't confuse you. :) So what if you're a lawyer or not, it's just a profession.

I am sure you didn't just "wake up" this morning and realize that attorneys are considered the lowest form of life. You either accept it and go forward or change occupations.
