i recently replaced my serpentine belt and the sqiking noise didn't go away i have later found it's not tighten enough though the tightner is supose to be automatic. how can i tighten it manualy?

You can't. If it's still not tight enough, it means the tensioner is no longer working properly and needs to be replaced.

You can't. The belt is kept tight by a "tensioner", usually located on your vehicle on the side of the engine where the belt is. A) Serpentine belts don't stretch, no matter what one would think. B) The tension is adjusted automatically by the tensioner. If the belt moves back and forth one inch when you move it it is adjusted and shouldn't squeal or squeak. Check the Waterpump, tensioner itself or other pulleys for squeaking.

you cant. You either have too long a belt on it or the tension-er is getting week and you need a new one. Those are the only things you can do.

you should change your belts every 50,000 miles,or every 1 1/2 yrs - 2 yrs.if you hear a noise from it id change it.My S-10 gets changed every 2 yrs.Now my wife's jeep gets changed sooner,almost 1 a year because it gets drove really hard.hope this help and good luck.

The belt could be stretched or for the wrong vehicle. Also check if you have a loose bracket.

The answer is you cant. the tensioner spring is undoubtedly weak. You need a complete new one.

hsueh is right. you'll find that these tensioners are only about $60 - $75 & pretty simple to replace. =^ )
