Not when they died, but I did when some of my favorite cartoonists retired. Like when Bill Watterson retired (Calvin and Hobbes) and when Bill Amend (Foxtrot) semi-retired recently. Nice question =)

Nope, my favorite comic strip characters are alive and doing well! I love Bucky Katt from "Get Fuzzy" and the guys from "Pearls Before Swine".
