A boy brings a toy gun to school, walking down the hall saying just you wait it will be your turn soon. Another boy tackles him knocking him out. The second boy is arrested and charged with attempted murder, the first is set free. After all bringing a fake gun to school is just a childish prank. Now we know if this really happened the first boy would have been arrested for making threats on someones life, which is against the law in every state. Well a noose is a threat just like a gun, it has been a weapon that has killed thousands, the difference is most those that died have been black people. Im not saying that nothing should be done, I think both parties should recieve appropriate punishments. And that is why the Jena 6 deserve everyones attention, after all are we not all americans? There are people taking thier last breath, fighting for the very freedoms that are taken for granit. Thats people of all colors fighting side by side, to protect all of us.

I definately think that the charges against the boys are ridiculous that is not to say they don't deserve a appropriate punishment but murder charges are crazy in this case. I feel for the African American community because we all know that these charges are as serious as they are because they are African Americans, had it been white boys jumping a African American or Hispanic the only charges might have been battery charges and that's it. The white kids including the victim should have been punished for hanging those nooses and the African American kids should have been punished fairly for jumping the other kid. I think that all laws should be applied to all people regardless of race, equal treatment for all. Why is that so hard to understand?
My opinion about the tree and noose thing is if you are hanging nooses around trees you are trying to get someone riled up, if you achieved your goal don't go around acting like a sissy when you get jumped.

Here in the UK we are not familiar with the Jena 6 issue but we are nearly all concerned about the safety of the citizen and supporting our armed forces.

I agree.Both should be punished,but attempted murder is way to harsh. Assault and battery is about right. As for the noose-terroristic threats should have filed.

depends on the issue. for that issue guns do intend to be shown as violent but i do not see the problem with a water gun and what looks like more like a plastic then a real gun.
for society groups it also appplys
for supporting troops we need to stand by them no matter what and not wanting them to caome home
