Maybe if you have collateral...maybe your car?

Forget about getting an unsecured loan for that amount with your low score. Instead work on paying off those debts one at a time.

Make yourself a strict budget. Eliminate all the extras -- cell phone, new clothes, eating out, etc. Put every penny you can squeeze out of that budget on the highest interest rate debt, while making minimum payment on the rest. When the highest rate debt is paid off, move to the next till they are all paid off.

It will take 2 or 3 years but you will have a good payment history.

DON'T get a new loan to clean up old debt. Contact the companies you currently owe 1 at a time and work out settlements with each.

Consult a professional Bankruptcy attorney in your area, usually the intital consultation is free.
