I don't think Bushies make any attempt to portray themselves as defenders of free speech. I have seen questions and answers on here suggesting that people who oppose the war should be shot or locked in mental institutions. The Patriot Act is a shining example of what the Neocons think of that G%$ D@$ piece of paper the founding fathers left us as a rule of law.

Free speech is free speech, which also includes denouncing other points of view. No one wants to make certain speech illegal, but everyone also has the right to tell you that you are stupid for saying it.

Free speech= you talking as much nonsense as you like.

Free speech= me being to call you an absolute idiot for your stupid little rant.

Ain't life grand?

Oh please! Don't try to tell me the Democrats don't pull the same B.S. What's really mind-boggling is that liberals tout themselves as more enlightened, more open-minded, more understanding, and more accepting than their conservative counterparts. Your question just goes to show that liberals can be every bit as intolerant and narrow-minded as they accuse conservatives of being -- hey, come to think of it, that also makes such a liberal a hypocrite, doesn't it?

Not at all that seems to be your policy. We say moveon has a right to say it, but you say we should not disagree with it. When we call it despicable, you claim that they have a right to say it,,, then we have a right to say it's despicable. So when I say quit whining am I impeding your right to free speech or excising mine.

We don't agree with posing as an unbiased provider of news while you cut rates by 2/3 to advertisers who agree with your politics.

Nope.

You can say whatever you want.

I still have the right to dislike it, not buy your records, point out your factual errors, and in general question both your patriotism and your intelligence.

Free speech works both ways.

Free speech does not mean you can give secrets to the enemy, aid and comfort to the enemy, tell deliberate lies about people, yell fire in a crowded theater, incite a riot, or lie under oath in court. There are many things free speech does not cover.

You're free to be a traitor, of course America is free to try you, and shoot you for it. Remember Benedick Arnold?

They are afraid of the power of the middle class. They actually prefer a two class system with them having fulll control.
