A few years ago, a small common lizard got stuck between the screen and glass of a window in my house and died. He's been sitting there all that time and we call him the nameless lizard that haunts the window. Recently I'd decided to honor his memory with some kind of artsy project involving the preservation of his skeleton, but I have no idea how to go about doing this!
Could someone help me?
Thanks so much!

You could cast it in resin. Go to any craft supply store and look for 2-part casting resin (might be where they have the wood for woodworking projects). You would need to have a container large enough to hold the skeleton with a bit of room left over, preferable a metal one that you can then "rip apart" to release the cast. Pour in some of the mixed up resin -- let it harden. Add the skeleton, then pour in the rest of the resin to cover. Wait for it to TOTALLY dry, then remove the container. One preserved skeleton.

It might not be very artistic, but preserving it in a small glass container filled with formalin or formaldehyde, or even rubbing alcohol would probably work. A local university's biology department might have a 'bug box' which would allow insects to clean the skeleton of any remaining flesh (although I'm not sure if this would preserve the softer than bone skeletal connections which keep the bones from falling apart). That might give you a skeleton with cleaner lines. You could try doing research on a website devoted to taxidermy as well.
