I have 2 DUI convictions, one in 82 and one in 04. What do I need to bring to the formal hearing?
What are my chances of success? How do I improve them?

Hmmm, 22 years later and you're still getting bombed? You need to check out AA and get a handle on your boozing. Time to grow up and take control of your life instead of letting a bottle control your life. Getting drunk is fun and cool when you're a teenager but by the time you're 50 you'll be nothing but a burned out old drunk. By the time you're in your 60's, you'll be yellow as a gourd and dying a slow and very painful, agonizing death because you ruined your liver. Nobody ever said life was a bed of roses. We all face adversities, unfairness, disappointments and lost loves during our lives. Retreating into a bottle is the ultimate weakness.

Here's a little advice....I've never done any kind of drugs and my drinking has been very infrequent during my life. I've face many hardships as well. I've lost a child, been cheated on by the only person I ever loved, been made fun of because of a physical disability, been lied to, been dumped and I could go on and on. Drinking would not have changed anything, fixed anything or made anything easier. The next time you face adversity, remember this; they can chew you up but they can't swallow you. Making it through tough times makes you stronger and better able to face problems the next time. Bill collectors may take your possessions and lawyers may take everything else you have, but you aren't going to be executed for not paying the light bill. After you overcome a few problems without the help of booze, you'll find you feel much stronger and better about yourself. Good luck.
