If it's a blacktopped driveway, or even a gravel driveway, I would use cold patch. It's available at most home improvement centers, and comes in bags like cement. Pour it into the hole until it's about the height of the rest of the driveway, then smooth it out by taking a straight edge, like a 2 x 4, and raking it across. If it's a gravel driveway, simply rake more gravel (or spread out the old) when you're finished. We had about a 4" drop between the road and our driveway. My husband got some of this, and it worked great.

Depending on material of the drive and the size/type of repair you would like to make. There are a variety of different materials and processes to use to take care of the situation. More information would be helpful for you to be helped.
