okay yes it was Carole King.. she is penned as writing it.. from her tapestry album. James Taylor did record the song and got number 1 on the charts. HOWEVER JAMES and Carole were never married... James was married to singer Carly Simon. Carole never released it as a single, but to me EVERY SONG ON TAPESTRY should have been a single
