If you believed them and voted for a democrat, you're a sucker.
Democrats never have a plan. They just watch the republicans and do the opposite. When people get sick of the way things are, the democrats blame it all on the republicans and promise Utopian solutions that are unfeasible. Sometimes the public buys it and votes them in. Hopefully that won't happen this coming election.

They told you what you wanted to hear. But, you also have to know that they only have a slight majority, and do not have enough to pass legislation. Our Congress is more concerned about voting along party lines than listening to what their constituents want. That's why nothing has been accomplished. No one can pass anything without a 60 votes, and there aren't 60 of the same party. Solution: Do not re-elect your Congressmen, and hope the new ones will take your best interests in mind.

What do you expect when we have a POS President that will veto any legislation that will investigate into the corrupt
GOP practices, etc with the thought of actually doing something about it?
and off the record -
Do you realise that "Congress" way back in l945 was attempting to regulate and force the automobile manufacturers to produce cars with increased mileage and were told that this was still "Years Away"!

Gas prices are high because the Dem's block the exploration for new sources of oil and block the building of new refineries. Therefore any hearings on oil prices would lead back to their blockage of exploration and new refineries.
We're still in Iraq because we can't fight to win;a politically correct war will not destroy the enemies will to fight, only unconditional surrender ends war. Impeachment does not mean you leave the office. (Example Mr. Clinton)

The Democrats need 60% of the house votes, so far, the Repubs block every move.

They don't have enough votes to change stuff. They still can't get around the idiot repub's filibuster and monkey boy's veto. In 08, if more dems are elected things will start to change, hopefully, (they better damn it, I'm tired of people getting killed and tax dollars getting wasted)

Voting democrat back when I was young taught me at a very young age why not to vote democrat.
I'm glad you're learning. The example you detailed is why I'm happily not a democrat today.

They told you what you wanted to hear to get elected.
I always look beyond the words to the record of actions.
It doesn't always work but it's better than just taking their word.
