Are you trying to change a motor mount? With your car on jack-stands place a 6" x 6" block of wood directly under the oil pan and carefully raise it with a floor jack or a telescoping bottle jack.

The easiest, cheapest and best way in my opinion is by inserting air bags into the coil springs and pressurizing them to any height you desire. I installed these in my Ford Crown Vic:
