Yes we could have climbed the wrong tree in pursuit of forbidden fruit. Personally my grandmother always prefaced a tough chore with come on kids we've got a long row to hoe. I felt blessed the chore we were doing was not chopping cotton as she did as a child.
What is a little embarrassment after a long life of ups and downs. My foot has been in my mouth so often my toes are shriveling.

I do understand totally. Yesterday I got parenting advise
and told that I was a bad mother for something my son ddid 20 years ago!! And a very sarcastic comment by "how did he turn out?" Another one by a religious person told me to use "tough love".hmmm. He is 37, has a 14 year old son, has owned his own business for 16 years, has a waterfront home in Miami, maybe we should give the trolls OUR advise!!! I have a place where they can go, how about you?

You are "barking up the wrong tree" when you are trying to find something, but you are looking in the wrong place.
LOL! Thanks for asking. I have heard this term all my life and never stopped to think about what it really means.
I actually had to look it up in hopes of answering your question...I know I'm slow...
My answer is No. I can't think of anything any more embarrassing than sticking my nose into something I know nothing about and trying to voice my opinion.

Somehow, I think the same ilk patrols to make sure that "questions" are questions...why in the hell does anyone care? My feelings are, WE ARE OLD..we are supposed to ramble about, bother no one else, and in general, have fun! That one we seemingly do, with or without the patrol. Peace, and love the comment! Keep it up. Some of these people not only bark up the wrong tree, they are in the wrong woods! Goldwing

Ok, I guess I have to explain
what "barking up the wrong
tree" means.
Back in the neolithic age, when we used to go coon
(no smart remarks) hunting,
we took our prize coon dogs out to hunt for supper. Ok,
there was always one stupid
dog and guess what he was
doing. Barking up the wrong
tree....there was NO COON
UP THERE.
now, what does this mean in
modern terms, hell, I don't know.

I'm with you folks. They're paTROLLing the wrong site. They need to be someplace where profanity flows freely, as do crudity and nudity and ill will. (Like R&S, f'rinstance.)
