My work computer is a Dell Latitude D600. I have this laptop in a docking station with a regular keyboard, mouse, and monitor, but everytime I close the lid to the laptop, it goes into hybernate and I have to open it an log back in. Is there a way to prevent this?

Open Control Panel and bring up Power Management, then somewhere in there you can change the behaviour of the computer when the lid is closed (Do Nothing or words to that effect is probably what you want).

Yes. Most of the time you can change the setting for closing the lid in the power settings. If you go to the display settings and click on the screen saver tab, there is a power management button there. Click it and the power option for closing the lid should be under there.

Check your manuals where to change the settings. Closing lids, or docking actions can have equivalent responses as to log off, hybernate, shutdown - and can be set to no effect at all.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
