I just can't figure this out!

my son does this too.. they just arent's strong enough to stay in place.. it doesn't hurt them in any way of cause discomfort.. so your baby's okay =]

The popping noise that you hear is Air between the spinal joints. I don't know from your question how often this is happening but you shouldn't hear to much of this.
Always make sure to support the infants back while picking them up, and holding them.
If this is a common thing that happens more then three times a day it would be a good idea to call a Pediatrician and have the child looked at.

My sons shoulders pop all the time. I think its just because their cartilage and muscles havent strengthened enough to hold things in place more firmly.

My son's shoulders do the same thing. I worried I broke his arm the first time, but he was fine. I really don't know why that happens.

i dont know the answer to this but my little girls back pops everytime i pick her up!! she is almost two.. i dont know why.. dont think its anything to worry about though.. just letting you know your not the only one..lol
