For those of you who have taken the general GRE, is it hard?

Also, for those of you who have taken the subject test in English and Literature, is that one hard? I've been studying the practice test and if the real one is anything like it, YIKES! Any pointers you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh - and I'm taking the computer version, if that makes a difference.

I haven't taken the GRE, but I have found that Cliff Notes makes the best test study books.

When I needed to pass Praxis 1 math, I used their brand. Also, I found a friend who was good at math to sit with me once a week and help.

Now that I am about to take the Praxis 2 (very, very long set of exams) I have their study book again. My friends who have already taken it and passed used the Cliff Notes book. They have lots of good explanations, examples and practice tests and answers.

Good luck.

I dont' want to freak you out, but the general GRE is really hard. I'd make lots of flashcards with vocab words, and definitely practice some short cuts for math problems. Good luck!
