The early favorites to win the cup seem to be Anaheim, San Jose, and Ottawa. I love the salary cap in hockey because every team has a decent team now! I don't think there is any one super dominant team. The cup is up for grabs every year now, and it is great!
I think the Avalanche will do well and the Penguins definitely have a chance at winning the cup.......already!!!
Other teams that I think will have improved years are: Capitals, Panthers, and St. Louis (though St. Louis won't be as good as some may think so). These three teams will all fight for playoff spots.

Well, My pick was the Ducks last Year, This is the Predators because they need to win one for Nashville and Move out of Town.

The Blues are going to have a great year and stand a good chance at taking the division if everyone (tkachuk, weight, erik johnson, jamal mayers, and kariya) can actually stay healthy.
I would not be suprised if they at least made it to the conference finals.
