It's what you know. Even though they're bad, they're familiar to you.

Its the whole comfort zone. You know what to expect with that old habit. Humans are very habitual creatures and I think its just because our brains need a break from time to time so they rely on habits.

It's the defense mechanism.When we don't know what and how to go any further or any which way,it's the only course known and we automatically take to it.That's why any effort for behavior modification has to be a continuous effort with ever watchful vigil to avoid relapse.

We get scared, confused or frustrated and go back to what we already know and take the easy way out

Because we know how it feels like when we hv it n when we get a small stimulus we hv less resistance against the temptation caused

cause its something were used to doing without even thinking or effort so we tend to take the easy rout as humans aint that cheap?
