I love the nickname Mimi but I don't think that it's serious enough for a grown woman. It was my grandmother's nickname (and I had a very special relationship with her) but her name was Margaret and I can't stand that name! What 'real' name can I give my daughter where I can call her Mimi?
I know Emily and Michelle... what are my other options? Please and Thank you!

Miriam would be lovely. ;) You might also use Maxima or Maximilienne, Moema, Momina, Mary, Moira, Maura or Maria.
And of course, as evidenced by your grandmother, Margaret, you could easily use Mimi as a nickname for just about any M name, even if it contains only one M and isn't related to the traditional Mary variations. Megan, Magali, Mairead, Marsaili, Margery or Margot, for instance, since all are forms of Margaret and would be in double honor of your grandmother. ;)
But if those don't appeal, nearly any M name will do (especially since Mimi holds special meaning for you!) ... Matilda, Magdalene, Madeleine, Madeline, Maeve, Meredith, Michaela, Millicent, Morrigan or Mogana.

I know a Mimi whose actual name is Michelle. She hated being called Shelley. The only names I can think of for Boo are Barbara and Boudicca, haha! I do think that Boo is a nickname that doesn't actually need to come from a longer name, it can just *be*. Like, honey or sweetheart.

I applaud you for realising that Mimi isn't a great name for a grownup. It's a fun nickname, and it's really sweet to name your daughter after your grandmother, but so not a grownup name!
