Thankyou all for your posts ....
The school have been more than helpful and the head teacher is going out of his way to ensure my son has the right standard of care he requires ..
As for the teaching assistant we make our decision on monday if we wish to prosecute .The school are taking their own actions to discipline her and all staff are to be retrained in restraining kids ..
My son is quite oblivious to this so i guess that is a good thing

Hi Sammie.
I have just read your previous post about what happened to your son.
I am absolutely appalled at the teachers actions.
A senco teacher should be able to deal with any situation without resorting to that kind of behaviour.
I hope she loses her job as a result of this. My sons senco has the patients of a saint and is loving and understanding,as they are meant to be.
I hope you get the outcome you want and don't let them brush it under the carpet, she may go further with the next child who doesn't conform xx
EDIT
nickoscar,
Did you read the full facts in Sammie's last post?
i think not.May i suggest you do before you start your verbal abuse.
Her little boy is Autistic..Read up on it,it might bring you down off your high horse.

I think you should have asked your question in the grade school section. People over there are alot more sympathetic to this kind of situation. Also, you should have stated in your question about your son having Autism. Maybe then you wouldn't get these answers from jerks telling you the teacher was right to hit him. Anyway, I hope everything works out and you and your son are happy. Good luck to you.

i do no longer think there may well be ANY reason for an adolescent to be crushed by employing skill of a instructor of any type, I did see this on the on an universal basis Buzz this morning and that i used to be blown sparkling of what I had considerable. Ms. Davis has NO perfect in the college ecosystem if she are no longer waiting to regulate herself. there are a number of distinctive approaches a instructor can take care of this venture, and that i additionally heard that it being a shape college, teachers are no longer finding for the certification which i think is bogus additionally. i might flow on with my factors and what demands to be carried out mutually along with her, specific she is fired, besides the undeniable fact that i think she reward greater effective than that. I were a preschool instructor in the past, and a few infants do act out, besides the undeniable fact that, there are a number of distinctive difficulty-free approaches to regulate activities like this, she was a instructor, a instructor TEACHES, and that is composed of perfect habit, she would desire to have merely took him to the factor talked to him approximately what he won't understand, and then have him show regret to the different woman, He did no longer be experienced some thing in this different than getting beat by employing skill of a instructor. WORST way dealt with in my opinion!!!

I read your orginal post - f*cking appalling. The teacher should be suspended and sacked.
Working with a child with autism and being physically aggressive towards him. Totally out of place. I bet she thought nothing would come of her actions because the kids were 'special needs'. I am afraid you find bullies attracted to working with vulnerable people for some reason.
She is a disgrace and you should follow this up strongly.

Good god did not see your original question but would have advised you to do something about it.
I remember when I was at school in the 70's being hit by a teacher and all I did was make a small hole in my book as I had over rubbed a mistake out!! i was smacked on back of legs and then hands held out for ruler in front of classmates who found it funny.
That lived with me for years so good for you that you did something about it in those days if you got hit by a taecher you got hit by your dad as teacher was always right regardless!!

I'm 56 so I am talking about old school.
I came from, probably, the bastion of political correct attitudes in the USA, they may have even invented it. Palo Alto, California, South west of Bazerkely, California. (I now call Palo Alto, Shallow Alto, full of frigging Yuppies and political correctness run-amok.)
Nevertheless, a teacher was not allowed to strike a student but the dean of students could paddle a kid and that dean made it well know he was not shy about using it. Not saying it worked well back then, but one has to wonder if the threat hanging over a kid can have a positive affect.
I teach English is China and the most stressful situations I have been in is misbehaving students that refuse to stop misbehaving. That kind of stress can have its breaking point and sometimes the innocent ones get caught in the cross fire. Thank god I have never reached that breaking point, but when a teacher does, I understand it. But when a teacher breaks that sacred rule, he or she will go down and be pretty much banned from the thing they love.
While sticking up for your son is great, nevertheless, stick up for the teacher as well.
Peace
Jim

You're pleased with the outcome and that is good. I did not see the original post, so I am wondering what " hit" means. Did she " fist" him? Did she slap his wrist or arm? Did she slap him across the face? There is, of course, no excuse for hitting a child. But I'm curious as to what occurred .

I have just read your other question and I am horrified that this happened by a teacher who was supplied to be able to deal with your son's special needs.
I hope that you get the outcome you are hoping for. It is terrible that this happened to your son in the first place and I hope he is ok.

I didn't see your original question but I'm glad an investigation is underway. There's no good reason for a teacher to hit a child, plain & simple. This teacher needs to attend anger management classes for starters. When I was in the seventh grade, a teacher grabbed ahold of a female student & threw her against a radiator. (yes, this was in the 50's) Why did he do this? She raised her hand, he acknowledged her, & she said she was going to throw up & needed to go to the restroom. He refused to let her go, so she got up & as she headed towards the door, to leave, he ran after her, grabbed ahold of her, & threw her against the radiator, causing her to fall to the floor. The entire class was in a state of shock. The girl got back up on her feet, then walked out of the room & went straight to the principal's office. The principal came to our classroom, escorted our teacher out of the room, & the teacher was relieved of his teaching position. Teachers are human but they need to stay in control. Hitting a child for failure to follow instructions is unforgivable. My thoughts are with your son & you.

i really hope she isn't allowed to ever work with children again - especially sen children. She needs to be drug across a floor herself - because she is an adult / teacher and she knew better.
I don't know if you saw it the other day, but I watched Oprah about children with autism. Jenny Mcarthy wrote a book about her son & helping him to pull out of it. I'm sure you've worked with him just as well, I just thought you might want to know about it incase you didn't. She had some very interesting points & wrote a book about it. Here's the link (just incase you didn't see the show)

Good luck to you & your family!
