Unidentified bodies are called John / Jane Doe because at one time they were common names. Which means even though they are unidentified they still have an identity.

1. the relationship
2. if I love them or just love them because I'm commanded to do so
3. amount of life insurance
4. if they have my dog and are missing
5. if they took my favorite t-shirt when they left
6. what is my benefit if it is them.
I'm reminded of an old benny hill comedy routine where a man says, Madam, is this your husband
and the woman starts to sob why, oh why, OH GOD Why?
the man says, what was your husband's occupation,
and to this, the woman says, "its not my husband, why can't it be him!"

most definitely and i think it is easier for the ladies since they can assume their husband's surnames when they're married but for a lady who has a husband named John with Doe as a last name -all hell will break loose!

On a similar note, my parents' names are Bob (Robert) & Bobbi Jones. Truly. They've told me how they've gotten some strange looks when checking into hotels, etc... Kinda funny.
