They got swept by the Phillies twice in the past few weeks. First a four game sweep then a three game sweep. That's the ultimate choke job

lol no my Marlins took care of business agianst them last night in a good game but a true heartbreak for the Mets. They're blowing , run leads, they dont deserve to be in the playoffs the Phillies do

It is a long, hard, and grueling season and should the Mets win the division they have certainly earned it. The Mets are under high visibility right now because they have been losing games. If you go back and look at the season you will see that every team has experienced what the Mets are going through right now. A season is always a series of ups and downs and the Mets are going to have to fight through it to go to the playoffs.

well the Tigers had a great year and did deserve to go but they won't, and the Yankees played like crap the 1st half of the season and came back to get into the wild card, so it's not always fair who gets in the playoffs. I think if they hold on they deserve it.
I guess any team not matter how they got there as long as it was fair deserves to be in the playoffs.

even though they are frustrating to watch at this point.yes..if they still end up with more wins than Philly ,than yes they deserve to make it.anything can happen in the playoffs,its a new season

The Phillies are all heart and the Mets are too complacent. The Phillies remind me of those underdog teams who win it all. It could happen. They are on fire.

Ah, Mets' fans. You guys are still leading. Look around. Only 2 divisions are not close. Why do you expect death when it's only close? If your team slid into 2nd, sure, beat your breast. You're still in the lead, your team therefore MUST be good, and it is NOW that they need you to bully boy FOR them. Hey, your dad hasn't lost his job yet. Let him lose it before you move out and call him a loser.

They still have the Best record in the NL East,so I would have to say yes at this point.But I do believe they will not win the East when its all said and done.they should of won it last year but my Birds on the Bat got in the way.

I now watch expecting them to LOSE. I wish I could figure out what is happening. Mostly, it seems the pitching has crumbled...but why? If it wasn't for David Wright, they'd probably be in 4th place by now.
