I have a Compaq Presario notebook, but when I use it on battery power it only lasts me an hour?

before it goes into hybernation. Is this usual? Should I be getting more time?

On a brand new notebook, battery typically lasts for 2 hours. On a 1 year or older notebook, 1 hour is typical. Try lowering screen brightness.

Batteries only last about 1 and 1/2 hours.

Depends on what your doing. how processor intensive your tasks are. I have a brand new HP Pavillion and it only sees about 45 min with everything I have running at any given time
