The good shocks...That Colorado and Arizona have put together very good yrs and are contenders with basically no name teams. The bad shocks...the Mets who have not been able to put the division away with a lot of talent and the Chisox that are battling to stay of of the AL Central cellar. Honorable mention to the KC Royals and Washington Nationals for having teams in a state of rebuilding and virtual shambles but have struggled and arent going to have 100 loss seasons...after everyone predicted they would lose 105 to 110 games apeice

i'm shocked at not being shocked at anything anymore -
like a wise manager said once: "it ain't over till it's over"
as long as there's an out left - there's still a chance and as long as a team is in contention - they just have to play relaxed - one game at a time and worry about themselves.
162 games is a long season and you can't and usually won't win them all. just play sound baseball and win most of them and hang close - you have a chance.
i find it very interesting and exciting that the races run to the wire and not some team winning the division by 14 games....

I'm shocked that at this point 4 pennant races are still in doubt. If you were to look at the standings a month ago, the AL East and NL East seemed like they were locked up, and now they're both dogfights due to late-season surges and fades. Heck, the NL Central might be decided before one of those divisions is, and the Central has been the biggest carnival ride this season. :)

Gotta be the White Sox who won it all two years ago. I thought they'd finish 4th (right now they're 5th, .5 games back behind the Royals) but they have a terrible record. They're tied with Pirates and Marlins for 3rd worst record in the MLB at 66-87 .431
Very surprised they did that bad.

I'm very shocked with the "NEW YORK MET'S",Specially the way the Met's were leading the national conference,Suddenly losing games with a huge margin, the pitching look like little leagues player and WILLIE, missing in action !You can't forget the injuries, the clean up "DELGADO" huge batting slump,But let's just pray for the "NEW YORK MET'S"and see what happens on Sunday (30) of September?

The White Sox for sure, very surprised (disappointed). With that pitching and hitting? No way they should have been below .500.
I'm shocked the Brewers have made it this far with absolutelty no pitching. Seattle was a big shock, to even see them contend for so long.

My Dodgers shocked me like a 9 point magnitude earthquake. They had the best record in both leagues in about mid-July. Look where they are now. Very disappointing!

I am shocked my White Sox sucked so bad. I expected 4th place this year, but not being this bad.
I am also shocked that Arizona is doing this good.
I am NOT surprised that Detroit failed - the Yankees are good - the Brewers are above .500 - or that the Cubs are average.
