If the real scpetics truly believe that there are no such things as ghost, why do they incessently keep trying to prove that they don't exist. If they are fair dinkum, they shouldn't have to prove a thing!!!! Should they???

No, no, we keep asking for any proof that there ARE ghosts. Google burden of proof. Proving a universal negative is impossible, thus the person with the positive claim (Ghosts exist) must be the one to provide proof.

I am safe to say that I do not believe in ghosts and they likely don't exist because there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. Much like Pink Unicorns or a teacup orbiting Jupiter.

Actually, what I find interesting is even if you have proof, they say it's not "real" proof. Quick example, I'm a massage therapist. I also do reiki and such. Now, someone was blasting that these things have no positive effect on people. I personally know otherwise and the Touch Institute in FL has many many abstracts and studies about how positive these things can be. Someone told me that it wasn't "real" scientific proof. What more do you want? They documented everything, they wrote the abstract, they have their test and control group, etc.... I don't get it. lol
Anyway, there's nothing wrong with being an open-minded skeptic. Meaning, not just openly accepting everything or denying everything. I respect that. It keeps us in check and safe from believing everything we hear. In an area where the best proof is personal experience, it's hard to provide that. Especially if they aren't open to it to begin with. You can't change everyone's mind. And those that genuinely are curious, but would like proof, they will find it. Those that just want to be a pain will not find the proof they are looking for because they don't see it right in front of them. I always say, I'm not here to be tested, but if you are curious, I will try to help you. :) My 2 cents.

They are not trying to disprove as much as eliminate the possibilities. If, in the end, the evidence shows that there is or is'nt a spirit world, then it will be accepted as such. With one exception, there will always be the faithful believers in ghosts who will never give up. I am both an atheist, and a believer in spirits, so i may just be confused or crazy.

You have it backwards. Anyone who says ghosts exist must prove it, but no one ever has. My brother said he saw many ghosts. He took me to several places where he had seen ghosts the night before or the week before. He wrote about one of his experiences for a local newspaper. I look closely at weird things and learn what they really are, while Bro flees when he sees what appaers to be a ghost. he and our aunt saw many ghosts at the palce she lived 1961-1994. i saw something that appeared to be a ghost just once. i walked over to it and saw what it really was. Bro would have fled and told he saw Ghost #437 if he saw he same thing. I have hunted ghosts since I was age 15, and I found none. I have an open mind, so prove to me that ghosts exist. If you say you know where one is, I shall learn what it really is.

Those who attempt to prove ghosts don't exist do so to prove their own beliefs. Same goes for those who try to prove that ghosts do exist. They each believe something is true and feel the need to prove it to the world. It doesn't matter if they exist or not, each side will scream it is the other's responsibility to prove their stance.

People will always try to deny the truth. They lack understanding of the Afterlife. At the end of the day, they can try all they want, but they can't prove wrong what is true. Their reasonsing is illogical yet still they continue their fruitless pursuits. Perhaps they think they are helping by using science dispel another myth! However, they don't see that restless souls, ghosts etc. are beyond science.

The only reason somebody would try to prove something doesn't exist is because they believe in it. The onus is on the believer of ghosts to prove that they do.
Maybe you are confusing proving something exists and somebody giving evidence as to the how and why they would not exist.

U have skeptics on both sides of the spectrum. I think people r freaked out by things they cannot see or touch. I believe in ghosts, but even I am skeptical about some of those ghost shows on tv.

They feel the to explain away anything that doesn't fit it ti their idea of reality. It would be very upsetting to some people to have to think that they might not have control of every situation, that there might be something bigger that them. I think that down deep they do believe,so they feel the need to prove to themselves that that it's not true. I guess that would be a pretty hard place to be. Like an internal struggle, I guess when you think of it like that maybe we should give them a break.

you would think....but it's the same reason believers are trying to prove they DO exist -- they want everyone to believe the way THEY believe. that's the basic reason anyone tries to convince anyone else that what they believe is the right way.

human nature.
