I'm taking Paxil. Both warning labels on the Paxil and Advil Cold & Sinus say that I should not take them together. I'm congested, achey, have a sinus headache, and totally worn out. Help!

(Taking Paxil for irritability and mild depression. I have insomnia sometimes and a 3 yr old who deserves a nice mommy, not a grouchy ogre. Peace.)

Chicken soup, plenty of fluids, 7-up,water, decaf tea. Get plenty of rest.If you have a fever DO NOT pile on the blankets! You do not sweat out the fever or the cold! Kick off those blankets! Turn a fan on and rub yourself down with a wash cloth that has been soaked in cool water cool water. This will help to lower that fever! Many people die everyday with well meaning persons piling on the blankets on a person with a fever. Blankets will just raise the fever higher.
I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Umm, common cold should only last about 7-10 days. It does not sound like he had cold, sounds like chronic bronchitis. That can't be fixed with Nyquill There is no medicine that works on a cold except test and fluids. Nyquill is just a shot of alcohol to help you sleep, really.

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is our favorite remedy for stopping sinus infections. We wish more people knew about this amazing home remedy for sinus infections. The idea is to take apple cider vinegar before the sinus infection occurs, which for most people is at the start of allergies, colds, flu...
There are a couple ways you can drink apple cider vinegar (aka ACV). One way is to put 1/8 to 1/4 cup ACV in 16 oz of water and sip it throughout the day. The other method is to gulp 2 TBLSP of ACV in 8 Oz of water all at once.
If you have a existing sinus infection, keep drinking a mixture of ACV and water throughout the day for several days.

Call your doctor's office, they will be able to recommend a cold med that you can take with your prescription. It's the smartest thing to do, or just go to your local pharmacist, they are an excellent source of information on drug interaction and they can give you the best advice on what to use with your medication to give you some relief.

Sometimes, using the 'child's dosage' instead of the adult dosage of cold med's works well. But...ask a pharmacist.

Try something spicy, like salsa. It will help clear the congestion. For the headaches and achy feeling, try tylenol, advil, or aspirin if you can take them with your Paxil.

Call your doctor or pharmacist and ask what cold meds you can take. The pharmacist may be easier to get ahold of and they will answer your question right away (they can look up interactions on their computers while you are one the phone). I feel sure there is something you can take...I am on anti depressants too and I take cold meds.

I usually get rid of a cold by doubling or tripling up on my Vitamin C intake. lots of orange juice and green vegetables. Really. I can whip a cold in a day or two this way provided it's only a cold.

Did you look at other sinus medications to see if there is a drug interaction? You may want to talk to your pharmacist and see if he recommends anything for you. Otherwise, rest and fluids will help.

Sounds bad, what you want to do is. Stay wrapped up in a blanket, to sweat the cold out your pores. Just stay on hot liquids, such as Tea, Thera-flu, and warm flat ginger ale.
