Sounds like the resolution on the display ahs changed.

Right click on an empty part of the Desktop, and select Propeties from the menu that appears
Go to the Settings tab of the window that appears
You will see a slide bar in the center left of the Properies window
Moving that bar to the right, so that the number under/beyond it get larger will make things smaller and clearing on your display. Try resetting it to the 1024x768 resolution (most common one today).

If you are unable to change the resolution then something has happened that has cause the computer to lose the drivers for the video card. You would need to reinstall the video drivers to correct the problem.

Reboot you computer.
If it doesn't work, go to All Programs -> Control Panel -> Display, then play around with the settings until you figure it out. I'm assuming that you're using Windows.

Sounds like your display settings got messed up. If you're using Windows, try right-clicking on the desktop and selecting properties, then the settings tab, and adjust your screen resolution.
