First off, there is no such thing as a lie detector. Don't get in the habit of calling it that; it's a polygraph. Polygraphs measure physical response to certain questions in order to see if the body is experiencing fight/flight in response to the questions. The theory is that a person who is lying will experience anxiety when asked particular questions.
But polygraphs are not allowed as evidence in court because, yes, they CAN be manipulated and depend to a very large degree on the person reading the test results. It's pseudo-science. I've beaten polygraphs without even really trying.

there are person-friendly the right thank you to fool the lie detector. some are less demanding than others. the finest way is to make the end results of the lied detector inconclusive. The lie detector works with the aid of monitoring particular autonomic purposes, alongside with: pores and skin conductivity, heart fee, respiratory, pupil dilation...etc. in view that those are autonomic purposes, they happen with none voluntary strikes on your area. as an occasion, once you're working, your heart fee will improve right now. the comparable holds genuine for mendacity. once you lie, the earlier stated actual purposes changes right now. To fool the lie detector, you will possibly be able to desire to regulate those autonomic changes. The latter demands a great deal coaching and a disciplined concepts. whether, this is plenty less demanding to shrink to rubble the outcomes. What do I propose with the aid of messing up the outcomes? The lie detector try start up with some baseline questions. this is warm at present? Are you donning a black shirt? they supply you questions that they comprehend you will answer certainly. using this as a baseline, they comprehend once you're mendacity because of the fact the outcomes changes from the baseline. So, whilst they ask a baseline question, you answer certainly yet you voluntarily exchange your autonomic readings. So, they might't decide once you're mendacity because of the fact the readings exchange in spite of once you're answering certainly and once you're mendacity. The trick is to scrunch your feet (i.e. bend your feet) throughout a baseline question. with the aid of scrunching your feet, it changes your autonomic purposes. in view that they might't distinguish lies from certainty, the try is inconclusive and additionally you're in the sparkling. I pay attention those memories of how criminals placed on the incorrect length footwear purposely to fool the lie detector. They placed on footwear 2 sizes smaller than they generally do. This mimics bending your feet and has the comparable result.

Lie detector tests are unreliable and are easily beatable. Alot depends on the person that examines and interprets the results.
So the same test can mean different things to different examiners. That's why they are not used as evidence in courts.

Look at the latest on Sky site - just PR rubbish - not happening anymore, wow, there's a surprise.
**Okay Dave we'll try not to get in to the habit of doing that. I'm just guessing the asker didn't want 30 odd people whose only response was "What's a polygraph?"

I think the only way to fool a lie detector test is if you take certain drugs. I'm sure they'd have to undergo some blood-testing, before they would take the test.
It sure would be a good way to clear their name.
