Hendrix. He was just so innovative and, charismatic.
I feel that had He lived, He had the star power and, mystique to, have been an influence in music for a long time. (He hasn't done bad as it is for, a deceased guy)

While Sly and the Family Stone had a few good hits back in the day, their music hasn't exactly got the same oomph as Jimi Hendrix's sound does. There is the distinctive guitar, and that deep voice that wraps itself around a tune and comes out all smoky and seductive.

I like Sly but JImi would be my favorite. Their genres are a bit different though.

they are both great in their own special ways but I don't understand why you would even consider putting them in the same category. Thats like apples & oranges.
Hendrix was one of the best guitar players that ever lived & Sly Stone is a mere entertainer.
