I think he might be getting exposed this season as an average coach this year. The class of coaching has raised significantly in the SEC in recent years : Spurrier, Saban, Richt, Meyer, etc., and Fulmer is just not in their league.

I'm thinking UT has to at least make it to a New Years Day bowl for him to keep his job. Thoughts?

Absolutely! If you listen to sports talk here in Knoxville even the people that used to defend him are calling for him to be fired. He won the National Championship when the SEC was down. There was only 1 other SEC in the top 20 at the end of that year.

I'm tired of hearing the same reasons for losses. For the past 3 years or so he keeps saying that we need to practice special teams and get better in our running game. Has that happened? NO!!

Fulmer still runs a 1950 offense. For some reason his system is too hard for Freshmen to learn and they can't get on the field. This would make me think it was a good system but it's not. Why doesn't anyone else have trouble playing Freshmen.

FIRE FATTY!!!!!

I was mad when they fired Tennessee hero Johnny Majors and hired Fullmer. He is a good coach, there are just so many good teams in the SEC, that there aren't enough wins for all those guys to go 11-1. Losing to Cal was an embarrassment though. Never would have happened to LSU or Florida. I think Franchione at Texas A & M is on the hot seat! They paid a ton of money to lure him from Alabama, and he is worse than the last guy! He will never live down losing to Oklahoma 77-0!

I think Phillip is on the hot seat a little. If he gets 9 wins, regardless of what garbage bowl game Tennessee plays in, he will survive. Anything less than 7-8 wins and he is gone. Because of the bar being raised in the SEC in recent years, the conference is very cutthroat and harder to win and succeed.

I have been calling for that guy to get fired for 5+ years now. The program has been on a downwards spiral for a long time, and he is responsible for that. Sadly, the bulk of the Tennessee fanbase will support that moron to the ends of the earth. 7-5 will probably keep his job, 6-6 and he may get fired.

that hook is set.. if Fulmer doesn't just about win out he's toast.. and he could seriously lose to Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky.. heck even Vanderbilt and Arkansas might beat the Big Orange..
