No, it should be kept to continuous OT.
Last year lots of teams got lucky with the shootout. Many teams lost when they should of won, like when a goalie had a great night, they offence couldnt put it away, then it goes to a SO, and they lose.
It should deffinantly stay continuous OT in the playoffs.

No shootout - EVER! Hockey is a team sport that requires a COLLECTIVE effort based on a collection of skills. Why change the rules after 60 minutes, or 65 minutes, or whatever so that all of sudden it becomes a one-on-one challenge? If a regular season game ends in a tie, so what? In the NHL, the regular season is almost meaningless anyway. In the playoffs let them play 5 on 5 until it's decided.
At least it's not as bad as soccer, which is 90 minutes of defense (as stipulated through the off-side rule), followed by a contest of "just kick the bloody thing to where the goalie isn't standing so that we can all get on with trashing this town since that's all we came here for anyway"

It should be the current way.
There has been a lot of talk the last couple of years (supposedly initiated by US Networks) that NHL Overtime is unpredictable etc etc
Well, What are the chances that Major League Baseball (which no longer has great playoff ratings) will end a game after 12 innings and go to a home run hitting contest to determine the winner?
NONE!
I was in Columbus at the draft and I was at a lunch table with a few GMs and executives and the consensus was the league would move to a 4 on 4 format for OT LONG BEFORE they would entertain the idea of a shootout. But then.............these are GMs, it is the Owners/Governors that make those kinds of decisions, sometimes without consulting their GMs.

No question they should stay with OT....the shootout is a joke. Fun to watch for sure.....but no way to finish a hockey game of any importance.

I think it should stay the same. Its a team sport and not a one man show. The shootouts focus more on the individual than the team. Plus, there are so many players who refuse to do shoot outs.

How many times has this been asked, now? To send playoff games to the shootout is unfair, period. Never gonna happen.

I think Shootout in Playoff Games would make More Sense because its less Time-Consuming, I won't have to stay up until 3AM just for that.

Urgh, Im gunna be different, I'm ginna tell you that i like the idea of a shoot out in the playoffs, because i hate games that go into 3 overtimes, cause it takes forever, and maybe some kids have a bed time!
Lol, But i understand people saying it's unfair to goalies who are good and had a good night, but if your such a good goalie, you should be able to stop or make a good effort at stopping a puck in a shoot out, and if your team is really playoff worthy they should be able to score on one.
