We keep hearing that it's all spin and PR in the McCann case from the wannabe witch finder generals. We read repeatedly in their posts that we shouldn't believe the spin in the press. All of a sudden the tabloids, broadsheets and all other media is not to be believed. The McCanns are guilty they bleat.
Well my question is: How did they form their resolute opinions regarding the McCanns guilt?, articles in the press? Spin? I don't understand (perhaps because I am logical) how it's okay for them to believe the McCanns guilt from information gained from these sources and yet they totally disbelieve information from the same sources that point to their innocence? After all, non of the hate campaigners have been privy to any statements, witnesses, forensics etc. Only the same media they now decry.
Sorry in advance for the flurry of thumbs down for anyone who agrees.

sam: I have never claimed to be, but even if I were of below average intelligence would that make me ignoble in your eyes?

Daisy, there is no contradiction, I am driven by my belief that a person is innocent until proven guilty. It's down to human rights.

SamJ (fake) I will not enter into communication with anyone who speaks to me in that manner. You have shown yourself to be rude and ignorant you have damaged your own image far more than mine. You are incapable of debate. Blocked.

Sam J (real), It's okay, no one could mix you up with someone so bitter and ignorant. Thanks for your kind words, appreciated.

Like you freethinker I base my belief in my own judgement and not on press/media coverage. I tend not to listen to the gossip mongering that is seen on Y/A and other such places. They all seem to be a free for all for people to say what they like without recrimination. If they were on the street and said such things they would be sued and well they know it.
No-one can say with honesty that the MacCann's are guilty or innocent for that matter. What I do not agree with is the witch hunt that is going on. This is a matter for the courts to decide whether they are guilty or innocent. OK, people have opinions. That is fine but the opinions are just theories based on news and newspaper report, which I might add have all had conflicting stories. The newspapers have no more idea what has happened to little Madelaine McCann any more than anyone on here. However, the difference is, the newspapers are making money out of the story. They will put a spin on the story if it reflects opinion. They are renowned for it.

Most of the insinuations on here have been nasty, incredibly insensitive and down right vile innuendo to say the least. It's like the gossip in almost everyones street who spreads a story and by the time it gets back to you it has grown arms and legs. I have never seen such vile and nasty comments as I have seen on here about anyone, never mind about people none of us know. The dispassionate way some people see things is beyond my comprehension but shows what sort of society we now live in. How the judgement has fallen on this couple because they made one mistake.
Can we not end this disparagement of them and leave them in peace. They only want to find their daughter by whatever means they can. These people may well have made a mistake but they also look as if they are going to pay the ultimate price for it.

To err is human, to forgive is devine.

Keep an open mind..... Was not Sherlock Holmes the One who Said:'' My Dear Watson, When all logic fails to point into the direction of a probable cause . Then the cause however improbable must be the truth. ''
Being in touch with Mother Nature some years now, has given me a handle on The sheer number of Conscienceless Energy Translated into Words. There is much more to Nature´s Mystique than Our Western Society is prepared to acknowledge as part of our Dimension. The only thing I picked up from all of this . The Life of a Child touches All of us parents. Every level of Society become One in a Unseen, Unheard,Subconscious Place, called Dream. May we focus on this Commoners Place, where we all are in One, to come to terms with whatever Truth, we may Find. Knowing, that you are at the center of the attention in the Media, for whatever reason, doe not sink in easy with a lot of us.. The Scope of Answers is by far larger, then The McCanns represent in airtime and newspaper articles. Problem is just, reporters have so little to report about in tabloids. Every Real Reporter, is actually in some forsaken strange land, reporting on efforts, by ordinary people, to keep a sane face in all the madness.

The main problem appears to be the McCanns' initial courtship of the press and their part in turning it into a media circus (not that the press require much help in that direction). The McCanns then came across as no more than attention seeking celebrity wannabees. Sadly, the main story, that of the missing child, has been relegated to a side issue.

Only the McCanns know the truth in all of this and their version of events is as hard to believe as that of the various media theories.

None of them know the truth, they believe the bits that back up their own theories and rubbish anything to the contrary. Maybe its time for the speculation to stop and hope there is a positive outcome out there! Some of the stuff posted here would be convincing if it was backed up with hard evidence instead of wild rumours. The web is not always the best source of impartial and truthful info. I'm sitting on the fence on this whole debacle as its now turned into a circus. Don't forget that there is a missing child out there.

OMG you are NOT being selfish! See an attorney and if you can't afford one, go to the family court in the town where you live and request one. someone as selfish as your ex needs to be straightened out, especially if he expects his 3 year old daughter to be around his 17 year old ****. don't know where you live but isn't his relationship with this minor considered statutory rape? You will also want to be sure you secure 1/2 of that house once it's sold. I wouldn't be surprised if the courts grant you the house at least until your daughter is 18 or 21, which will then get his sorry a-s out of there. Good luck. Remember, this is about your daughter, so don't ever feel guilty for fighting for her rights.

Most people are aware that the information provided by the media regarding not just the McCann case, but any issue at all, is usually biased, inaccurate or it may even be a lie. In order to differentiate what’s real from what’s not, we normally use methods of discerning truth.... like our ability to reason.
Bob J above gives a good example of how this reasoning process works.

NOTHING you read in a newspaper or hear on the media is without spin of some kind. "Each rakes the ashes to his own cake", as the saying goes/ You do not specify what the McCann's guilt is. Murder - unproved as yet, as is their innocence - Neglect is obvious but I don't suppose you care to discuss that.

Just another body trying to score points over what is probably a child's death, and absolve child neglect by ignoring it.

well said, spot on ! may i ask a question why do anti mccanns think that because we do not believe the parents have murdered their child but we recognise that it was stupid to leave their small children unattended that it makes us supporters of child neglect ????? that does not make sense, these ppl see not reason they want the mccanns to be guilty so that they can gloat and say i told you so, they care not for the child just for the witch hunt.

When the media is good it's very, very good but heaven help you when they become Judge and
Jury, and their opnions are taken for fact!
I cannot,hand on heart, say, innocent,or, guilty!
I wait for the due process of the law to decide that.
What I don't like are the witch hunts, he said, she said, everything out of proportion.
Heated arguments only make things worse,
rational discussions are more healthy.
I like everyone on Q/A, well there are a few exceptions! but only a few.
Let us agree to disagree, and be adult about it.

It would be wise to point out to such people that nothing from these sources is reliable whether it points to the guilt or the innocence of the McCanns due to the lack of any 'official' information from any 'official' sources.

Nobody, in a 'just society' should have already decided on the guilt or innocence of this family.

obanpussyginger also makes a very good point.
