Me and a friend got locked in a restaurant once! It had a loo downstairs (fortunately it was sloped out the back and had windows) and when we came out they had closed up and locked the restaurant! I had to remove a glass window panel to get out and shinny down a drainpipe!!!!
How we laughed...............................................

Of course I feel sorry for her
I can not imagine how bad she felt and how scared she was.
I am a 'tough old boot' and currently 54 and while not yet an OAP - old aged pensioner - I have began to realise how more vulnerable you get as you become older - and how things you could have dealt with easily can become impossible and more distressing as time goes on.
So yes I feel totally sorry that she had to go through this and feel for the stress it must have caused her.
If you do not you are either heartless or under 30.
Just wait - being less able to cope with events like this will happen to you too eventually.

I haven't read this story anywhere.
I am shocked that a public toilet was locked before it was checked to see if anyone was in there.
Although this lady now finds it funny, it could have been quite a different story.
Let's hope the council responsible train their toilet attendants and compensate this lady for the distress caused to her at the time.

Agh bless, I saw her on some tv show this morning.
She has seen the funny side of it now but she was a bit worried at the time.
She said she just been away for the weekend and she had her suitcase with her so she but on 4 jumpers ate her shortbread and drank her carton of orange juice.
The dopey worker didnt hear her when he shouted is there anybody in there!
At least she is ok!

Yes, I think on the surface it is obviously a funny story, but when you think of the distress caused to the poor lady involved you realise that actually it could have been quite traumatic. We will all get old some time, let's hope people don't all laugh at our misfortunes.

It would've been worse if she'd been locked in somewhere without a loo and running water.

It reminds me of a true life article i once read...
There was an earthquake & while digging in the rubble of a shattered house rescuers found an old man laughing his head off saying, "i pulled the flush & whole darn house came crumbling down!".
