Yes.The following support this view :
i) The New India Team has nothing to lose and every thing to gain. No doubt they start as under dogs because of the vast reputation of the Aussies as world beating team for so many years now and previous Indian teams succumbed to pressure at moments of reckoning.
ii) the law of averages is catching up with Aussies, in addition to the absence of their ace bowler Mc Garth. Now their aggressive captain Ricky Ponting is also injured and not available.
iii) Present Australian form is very poor with losses against Zimbabwe and then Pakistan in Super 8 stage. Their defeat of Sri Lanka is only worth mentioning. India is no Bangladesh team.
iv ) Present mood of India is high with some one or the other of the batsmen clicking in each match. Loss to NZ need not bother us.

Indians Team has a record of inconsistencies till nos and as such it will be difficult to say whether they will perform against Australia at the same level they performed against South Africa and England. Since most of the players and the Captain are new, let us hope that they will create a fresh record for the better.

I think, India will maintain same performance against Australia. because if we want to win the 20-20 world cup then India have to maintain same performance. without good performance we can't win 20-20 world cup

This was a question I'd asked myself after India defeated Pakistan in their group match. The result? They might have narrowly lost to New Zealand, but picked up their next matches against England & South Africa.
South Africa had a great chance b'coz they'd played more matches than India, had a better six-hitting batting line-up, much better seam bowlers and also good fielders. to add to it they'd home advantage.
So therefore if India join their batting performance against England and bowling n fielding performance against Pakistan & South Africa, they can surely play competitive cricket to Australia. India might win better than what they could do in ODIs, b'coz Australians have losses in hands of England (earlier), Zimbabwe (group stage) & Pakistan (super 8s)

India have always encountered a physiological factor while playing against Australia, Australia come with a huge reputation,so they are still the favs, but have to see how Dhoni & team overcome that psycological factor

I don't think so, the Aussies are very different team compare to S.A.
They did win alot of World Cups. The are very unpredictable and then there is that memory of the 2003 final.
