Interesting quote. I disagree with it.

True meaning in life consists of living for a purpose. The need to focus on tiny successes is one way to cope with the pointlessness of life when we don't have a purpose.

The three-part plan for coping with the meaningless existence:
1) Keep busy so we won't think
2) Focus on small bits of happiness to fill the time
3) Do some meaningless good deed in order to boost the ego and thereby feel good about ourselves.

Interesting quote. However I have different thoughts.

I believe HAPPINESS is made up of small pleasures and tiny successes. And you need to know how to appreciate all of those in order to be able to value the big ones that will come after. In other words it is the little things in everyday life that makes a man filled.

As to life, I believe it is made up of what you want to make it.
You are the sole and only captain of your boat, so whatever direction you decide to go, that is where your life will go. And the meaning your life has, is the meaning you want to give to it.

Happiness is a combination small and big successes.

Job promotions, weddings, childbirth, lottery winnings, winning the battle against dreaded diseases. These are huge successes. They matter most.

Tiny success are: winning the battle over who gets to hold the tv remote control, getting the biggest piece of cake, getting to choose which vacation place to go to...these are the spices of everyday life that makes us happy.

Each small and big event matters, each is a part of the story of a person. Each is a special memory that makes a person's life meaningful...

Says who?
In my opinion ---
~ Life is not made of small pleasures.
~ Success doesn't necessarily give you happiness either.
~ What the hell is "The big ones come too" asking?
~ You don't collect successes... what like ornaments?
~ Things mean what you WANT to them to mean if you place meaning and value on them.
~ Think you need to Get out a bit more and engage in some LIFE....

Life is sum of these small pleasures. If you are only looking for the big somethings, which may never come and in the process we loose these small pleasures and we feel life miserable.

For me, you can be more happier if you know how to treasure small ones, so that when the big one comes you become overwhelmed of that success.
