Is it really illegal to kiss in public in India & if so, why?

I don't know if it's actually illegal there but in many countries, public displays of affection are definitely frowned on. I remember a trip to Kenya years ago where I saw signs illustrating what couples should not do in public. That included kissing, holding hands, and hugging.

It should be illegal everywhere. Its disgusting
