Goldfish actually come in a great variety of colors, depending on breed and water quality. The common goldfish is typically brown when young, slowly changing to an orangish color and then may change further to orange and white, or even solid white. Sometimes they'll also stay the wild-type brown. Fancy goldfish vary the most. There are tricolors, red-and-whites, whites with red "caps", blues, blacks, black and whites, orange-and-whites, etc.
