All women, girls who are sexually active need to have a pap test, and std screening. There is more to it than going if you are pg. This is an important part of your body that requires that you see a gyn.
If you are feeling icky about it, take a friend with you, you can even have someone in the room with you to hold your hand, or take notes for you.
If you have been or are sexually active, you will need to have std cultures. A Pap test to make sure you don't have any abnormal cells growing, and a pelvic exam to make sure everything is okay there. If you have any pain, or questions about your period, do talk to the doctor.
**if you have questions about your sexual preference, this is the doctor to ask all those questions with, and get real honest answers.
Always bring a friend, we were all scared the first time.
YOU are not alone.
Please go.

you are female, just make sure everything is in working order.
consider b/control in case you are ever in a bad situation.
I don't know where you live, but I'd hate for you to get raped.
OR to regulate your cycles.

If you have become sexually active you should see a gynocologist. If you turn 16-25 years of age [suggested] you should see a gynocologist. The reason is because your body may be doing things or reacting in ways that may not be benficial to your health. What if you have cervical cancer? What if you have a cyst? What if your lesbian partner has passed on an STD to you? There are things sex-related, and just natural things your body may do on it's own that would be better if you got checked. If there is a problem it is easier to be embarrassed and uncomfortable for 15 minutes than to let your body be harmed in ways you could fix! But no, you never *HAVE* to go to the gynogologist. That's completely up to you.. But whether or not you should is something you're going to have to decide on your own. Get all the facts and use your bettwe judgement...

A lesbian is still a female in sex. Don't have to be worried abt seeing a gynocologist. Choose a female gynae if you prefer. Of course, if u do not hv any gal's health problems, u don't have to do so.
It is always good to go for routine screening test like pap smear and ultrasound, etc....

Absolutely you should see a gynecologist every year for an annual check-up. Cancer and other female health issues have nothing to do with sexual orientation.

Yes, all women should periodically see a gynecologist(regardless of sexual orientation).
Also, I assume you are aware that you can select a female OB/GYN if it makes you more comfortable.

They tell me that you should, because there are genetic problems you could get like cysts and stuff.
I keep putting it off as well, but my wife says there's nothing to it.
But yes the simple answer is yes.
