I would have to say as a (grade 10-12) teacher having to stay within pre-established course guidelines/book principles hinders personal development. I believe the objective of teaching is to provide information, encourage interaction and to allow students to draw their own conclusions based on the information provided. Particularly in world economics and current events.

That I cant do it all myself and have to rely on someone else to get certain things done before I can really do my job. And I have no real authority to TELL them what to do and when, so I have to skillfully talk them into doing what they are supposed to because they lack motivation. And I dont have the extensive knowledge they do, so I cant do it myself! Its so frustrating!
