i see what you are saying
if they are gay
thats one of the reasons why they may become conservative and or even a party member
because they dont want to be, dont want to accept they may be or are and are scared of it and want to try to 'hide' or not accept it
usually, their family is conservative (not always though obviously)
in that social unit they live in,
they are brought up with certain 'morals'
and are expected and pressured by themselves, family and their status in life to uphold and stand for those morals themselves
or they may chose to become conservative by themselves even though their family is labour or something
they would feel that pressure so much they may do everything to not only ignore it (being gay) but to also 'get rid' of it
and conservative stands for those exact kinds of 'morals'
has those kinds of rules to live by
being 'gay', even the possibility of it, would create so much pressure because its still seen as strange, funny, weird and even wrong by some of society, especially the 'traditional' societys with 'traditional' beliefs like conservative party
its classic psychology and sociology
obviously they are not all gay
to say that would just be stereotyping
but psychology plays a huge part in our decisions, in our personality and in our life
as does our social expectations, what other people think is acceptable
and this is some of the reasons for what you asked
in your defence
i understand you are not homophobic as the person above seems to accuse you of being
you are being observant, and questioning things
thats actually the furthest thing from such small mindedness as homophobia, because people who are like that usually DONT question these things, they just agree with and believe them
i think you should study sociology and psychology if you dont already
and even philosophy as its asks many interesting questions
and raises many interesting and thought provoking questions and ideas on everything

If you first assert that to disagree that homosexuality is a variation of normal; is a symptom of latent homosexual tendencies; then you can say that about EVERYONE that disagrees with you.
How convenient that is! That way you can discount every argument that they make and you don't have to come up with any facts to support your own position.
The same tactic can be used with the term, homophobia. The term means a condition where someone has an, "irrational FEAR of homosexuals". Instead of using the term correctly (then you wouldn't have any occasion to use it at all), you can use it to label anyone that disagrees with you about homosexuality.
Again, that will allow you to label someone as irrational and so ignore what they have to say and also try to keep other people from listening. Very convenient.
This kind of tactic is often used by people who want to manipulate others to agree with something that reason and common sense would cause them to disagree with. The tactic is also immoral and unethical which seems to be congruent with the type of people that use it.

They have as much or as little such latency as everyone else. But you notice their latency a lot more because they have a sad problem -- they seem to enjoy attacking and persecuting gay people. So when some of them are caught "committing" the very "sins" they condemn, the media delights in broadcasting their hypocrisy. Mind you, only a very small minority of them are like that. The other side of politics has its share of latent gays, but it does not seem to care about how other people go about their sex lives. The old adage "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" has never been more apt.

This question is offensive, stupid and shows that you have little if any respect for opinions that don't match your own.
