I'm a Big 12 fan and to me there is no doubt that the SEC conference is the best top to bottom. That being said, USC is the best team in the country. They dismantled a very good Nebraska team. Now LSU did the same thing to VaTech, but I think Tech was overrated. No disrespect meant to the students, players or faculty there, but I'm pretty sure they got some sympathy votes that put them in a top 10 group where they didn't belong. Bottom line is that USC is faster, stronger and has more offensive options than any other team.

Until USC plays LSU which would be in the National Championship,IF they both get there. Then is when we see who is better.I think that for USC on November 10th against Cal is when we see how good USC really is.For LSU Oct.7...LSU vs Florida is when we will see how good LSU.is.Or maybe even the next game against South Carolina...South Carolina's deffense is the real deal but on the other had isnt holding Virginia Tech to only 7 points and only allowing 7 points the whole season(LSU allowing only 7 points this season)...We will see in the next upcoming weeks.Don't sleep on Penn St. & Oklahoma.

SEC honks think that they are a better conference than the PAC-10. They play more of a physical style of footbal then their conterparts on the Pacific coast. That being said, USC right now is better than LSU. For that matter, so is Florida and Oklahoma. LSU is a very good team, but right now they are a little overated. LSU hasn't played anyone yet.

Thy have gotten fat on some overated and bad teams to date. Obvious the poll voters didn't see what Florida did to Tennessee.

well i looked at the schedule and i see that USC and LSU haven't played this year so who is to say that USC is better they both have played highly ranked teams and beat the crap out of them, so think this is a stupid argument at this point of the season. if they both go undefeated and play for the title then we will see, but until then we just done know yet. people just root for them team no matter how bad your team is in your eyes they are the best in the world.

They look like the 2 best teams in the country so there is no point in arguing who is better because, that is why they play the games. If they are the best then they will meet and we will see. I remember a few years ago every thought Oklahoma was going to kill USC in the Championship game because they thought Oklahoma was from a stronger conference. Then Oklahoma got thrashed.

Because they are not "fair weather fans"! Just because USC is ranked #1 right now, does not mean that everyone needs to root for them.

As a matter of fact, I think USC is over rated. Yes, they do get great recruits. Kind of makes you wonder how? $$$$$!

first off dave tenn sucks...they are terrible, and why is it that when lsu beats anyone who was considered good before the game they are over rated after the game ex: miami, Nd,Alabama 05, Tenn 06, Ark 06 all top ten teams... all wins on the road all considered overrated after the game...when use beats teams of equal class they are still considered good teams after why is that?...people say south carolina is a good team but if we beat them by three touch downs i gurantee they will be thought of as over rated.

p.s. the two best teams will not play for the NC this year they will have to play each other twice and will most likely split so NC will probably be 3 vs 4

I'm not a true fan of either and I believe that based on the body of work so far this year that LSU should be ranked # 1, and if they win this week there should be no questions from any one

because usc games are usually on at 7:00 pm pacific time and is past the bedtime for sec honks. i personally would love to get lsu in the bcs because then that would be one more school to never have to hear from again.

Why do you root for USC?

I could care less about the SEC.

People have their favorite teams/conferences, wake up!
