Barry Bonds called the owner of his record breaking homerun ball "an idiot" just because he wants to give the fans a right to vote on what should be done with the ball. Does this prove that Bonds has no class? Or should Bonds have the right to tell the owner of the ball what he can or can't do with the ball?

Ecko isn't deciding a THING about baseball. The fans are. If he had the idea to buy the ball and put it up for a vote to get publicity, the guys is SHARP. I had never heard of him before and now he has my approval for being a thinking man.

Bonds LIVES over the line. From over there he's throwing his tantrum because his ball is being diminished in value and it reflects on HIM. (Another reason I like Ecko, by the way.) Send the ball to the dark corners of the galaxy and let Barry "I'm an OJ Simpson fan" Bonds whine until he wets himself.

No he didn't step over the line at all. He's right. The guy is an idiot. The owner of the ball is a loser who's has nothing better to do with his time than to seek publicity for himself. Do you really think he will be honest with the voting anyway with hos obvious bias against Bonds? The voting will be as rigged as the 2000 election was.

Bonds could have easily bought the ball himself, then and there, if he had made a decent offer. Bonds then could have kept the ball, given it to the hall himself, anything.

But Bonds doesn't want it because buying that ball reduces the amount of diamond studs he can buy for his earlobe.

Now, would I call Ecko an idiot for running a campaign, of course not. Why, because guys like me, who couldn't give a darn about anything he does, have now heard his name. I know he is in fashion, which is more than I knew before.

Plus to vote, much like internet advertising, people may be tempted to click on his 'banners' and find out more about him, possibly change their spending habits.
Let's not pretend he is in this to do something noble, he's in it to make money and he will get enough publicity to get that money back.

Now, for all those people on here, or out in the real world, that wish they could have caught that ball and made a statement like the "*", but really couldn't have afforded not to sell it, can look to this guy and see that it was being done.

No matter how many people vote to shooting it into space, I think it will be given to the hall, branded or not.

And let's face it, Bonds isn't really the type of person that anyone should be calling an idiot, without sports, what would he be doing in life? Fed Ex, Parking attendent, bus driver.

Bonds has lost the window, long ago, for anyone (but the people that think "you should do anything to win" ) to feel bad about him. He cheated at a game that everyone here (probably) puts money into one way or another, to make himself appear to be one of the greatest, thus destroying a reputation already established as great anyway.

As I have said before, I actually pity bonds for being so weak mentally/emotionally, that he couldn't ignore steroid use in others just because he was temporarily losing the spot light.

Poor irrelevant Barry.

B O N D S...= N O C L A S S .... and he should not have the right to say what happens to that Ball, Ecko is in NO WAY an idiot, just look at how many posts per day are on Y.A. alone , not to mention other chat sites...This gets HIS name out there, And wether or not the talk is good, Marc is still being talked about......Barry could have bought the ball himself, but DID HE? NO!! so the rightful owner has the rights to whatever happens to HIS property.....

I don't think that proves he has no class. He proved that years ago. Is Ecko an idiot? Maybe. Depends on how much money he makes from all this publicity. 750k for a baseball is plain ridiculous. While I voted to shoot it into space and get rid of it, I would have preferred the option to hold a public explosion of the ball.

If the guy payed over 700,000 dollars for the ball only too put an asterisk or send it too space it's a moronic idea. As Bonds said it's his record and nothing that this idiot who bought the ball thinking he's the coolest mofo ever by putting up a vote on what too do with the ball will take away from Bonds accomplishment. If the guy had any class he'd just give it too the hall of fame!

Honestly tainted or not the record is part of baseball history, and american history. We can not blow the ball into space, for we all know that we cannot erase history. I personally believe it should be in the Hall of Fame, the Home run record has been and always will be the most cherished record in any sport.

Barry is just pissed because his ball is going to be rendered meaningless. Barry always states that he doesnt care what people think and he is above all that but when it comes down to it he does care and he is pissed people do not think his record is valid.

Even before the steroid scandal this guy was a jerk and pissed all over everyone....now he gets upset when a guy pays $700,000 to piss all over him. Of course Barry has the right to speak his mind and give his opinion.

But I am sure he wouldnt say the same for Greg Anderson.

Marc Ecko should be allowed to do whatever he wants to do with the ball. He spent over 750, 000 dollars on it. As much as I hate Barry Bonds, I have to agree with him. Ecko is an idiot and an attention whore for doing what he will do, unless it's sent to the HOF. We can all continue to ***** non-stop about this but face it, we can't do anything about this but to vote. I VOTED FOR IT TO BE BRANDED WITH AN ASTERISK!

No.
Regardless of how I feel about him; he still has a right to speak his mind.

However, I do find it funny that he has no control over what happens to "the ball"...and that is why he is mad.

Personally, I voted for the ball to be sent to the moon. I would love to see that option win! Broadcast it on National TV so the whole world can see it!
Heck, while we're at it, lets send barry with it too!!!!
